Installation Guide
|
1. Acclimate the Flooring |
|
Allow the flooring planks to acclimate to the room’s temperature and humidity for at least 48 hours before installation |
|

3. Plan the Layout |
|
Measure the room and determine the center point. Use a chalk line to mark the centerline of the room |

Dry-lay the first few rows of herringbone planks to visualize the pattern and make adjustments if needed |
|
Herringbone flooring is installed at a 45-degree or 90-degree angle to the walls, depending on the desired look |
|
4. Start Installing the First Row |
|
Begin at the center of the room. Lay the first plank with the tip pointing toward the centerline |
|
Use spacers along the walls to maintain an expansion gap (usually 1/4 inch) |
|
For glue-down installation, apply adhesive to the subfloor or back of the planks. For click-lock systems, simply connect the planks. |

5. Continue the Herringbone Pattern |
|
Install the second plank at a 90-degree angle to the first, forming the classic "V" shape of the herringbone pattern |
|
Check periodically with a level to ensure the floor is even |
|
6. Cut Planks to Fit |
|
As you approach the walls, measure and cut planks to fit the remaining space. Use a miter saw for precise 45-degree or 90-degree cuts |

Ensure the cut edges face the wall for a clean finish |
|
7. Complete the Installation |
|
Work row by row until the entire floor is covered. Be patient, as herringbone installation can be time-consuming due to the intricate pattern |
|
Remove spacers once the flooring is fully installed |
|
8. Install Transition Strips and Baseboards |
|
Add transition strips at doorways or between different flooring types |
|
Reinstall or replace baseboards to cover the expansion gap along the walls |
|
9. Clean and Maintain |
|
Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for maintenance to keep the floor looking its best |
